Cypress begins as a natural indigenous resource and passes along the production chain until it is converted into end user products.
In 2003 the NSW Cypress Industry Saw millers formed an alliance to provide a guarantee of the quality of Cypress timber products manufactured in NSW.
Products that carry the "Cypress NSW" logo guarantee the specifier or consumer that the Cypress to be used is sustainably harvested and covered by a manufactures quality assurance program.
The "Cypress NSW" logo is only attached to timber that is produced from logs supplied by Forests NSW and is manufactured under the strict guidelines laid down by the ATIC Quality Assurance program that is in place in the NSW Cypress industry (for more information see the Certification section of this web site).
At this point only the two main product ranges of Flooring and Structural grades are produced under this "Cypress NSW" double certification program however there are a number of other products which are readily available and although still manufactured from logs obtained from sustainably managed forests, the AFS certified resources of Forests NSW, they are not subjected to the requirements of the ATIC process.
